Congratulations to the following grade 9 students who were awarded the Kiwanis Calgary Chinook Watch Award: Sukhmanpreet M., Daniel N., Noh B., Areesha C., Kennedy S., Freddie N., Isabelle S., Yale Z., Tam D., and Garvit M.
Since 1976, with the support of Roberts Repair & Custom Designs, this program has celebrated grade 9 students who demonstrate excellent community spirit in their school and are promising future leaders. These are students who are always ready to lend a hand, are kind and compassionate, encourage others, show positivity, and get things done in the school. They know that change comes from “one person doing one action at a time”. The program provides incentive for young people to develop positive attributes that will carry with them into their adult lives. Students were presented with an engraved watch this past Tuesday at this annual event hosted by the Kiwanis Calgary Chinook Club. Bravo!

As we head into the end of the school year, please be advised that our school year-end library book return date is May 31, 2025 and June 16, 2025, for textbooks. Fees for lost library books will be processed on June 15, 2025. Fees for lost or damaged textbooks will be processed by the end of the school year.

Weather Reminders
We want to remind students to bring appropriate clothing with them to school each day. Students spend half of their lunch break outside, and some physical education classes happen outside as well.
Families are encouraged to review this checklist to be prepared for using transportation every school day and throughout the school year. Transportation Family Checklist
- Please ensure your child is prepared with outdoor clothing and footwear for all weather conditions. How to Dress for the Weather Guide
- All students enjoy 20 minutes of fresh air at lunch (weather permitting) and some physical education classes outside, and this time is much more enjoyable if they are dressed for the weather.
- Students should not arrive at school before 8:40 a.m.
- Supervision at Bob Edwards School is provided until 3:40 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 1:10 p.m. Fridays, and all students must be picked up by these times.
PLEASE NOTE: Siblings are not permitted to wait for another sibling in an athletic practice or game, as no supervision is provided for siblings who are not engaged in a teacher-supervised activity.
Parking Reminders
- Please do not park or drop off students in the bus zone between 7 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Please do not drop off or pick up your child from the staff parking lot.
- Please always use the marked crosswalks. (No jaywalking)
