We have completed a full week of school, and it's great to have the energy of the children in the building. We are excited to see our families at our Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences next week on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in the evening, and all day on Friday, November 28, 2025. We will also have our School Council meeting next week at 6:00 p.m. in the library on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. We look forward to seeing you next week at school. Nous avons terminé notre première semaine complète d'école et c'est un vrai plaisir de retrouver l'énergie des enfants dans l'établissement. Nous avons hâte de vous revoir la semaine prochaine lors des rencontres parents-professeurs, qui auront lieu le jeudi 27 novembre 2025 en soirée et le vendredi 28 novembre 2025 toute la journée. La réunion du Conseil consultatif des parents se tiendra également le mardi 25 novembre 2025 à 18 h à la bibliothèque. On espère vous voir en grand nombre à l'école la semaine prochaine. Nous vous souhaitons à tous une excellente semaine.

Looking Forward: Bob Edwards School Calendar

November 21 – Student Learning Update #1 was sent home with students today. Please review this snapshot of your child’s learning and progress so far this school year with them.

November 24 – Attention grade 9 parents. Western Canada High School IB Open House 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Please see the attached invitation. If you reside within Western’s geographical boundary, you are encouraged to attend. Please check the CBE’s Find a School page to verify boundary information.

November 27 – School Conferences 4:30 – 8:00 p.m. Booking opened at 4 p.m. on Monday, November 17, through your MyCBE account. How to Book a Conference

November 28 – School Conferences 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (No school for students)

School Council and Parent Society

Bob Edwards School and the School Council, and Parent Society meet monthly (approximately) to build and strengthen our partnership, discuss student learning, and consult on decisions impactful to our community. We meet in the Learning Commons at Bob Edwards School on the last Tuesday of most months at 6:00 p.m. Parents and guardians in our school community are welcome to join. The second School Council meeting and Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the 2025-26 school year will be on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. The Bob Edwards School Council can be reached at bobeparentsfundraisingsociety@gmail.com

Please join this outstanding group with which we enjoy a strong partnership. You don’t need to sign up for any ‘big jobs’, and any member of our community is welcome to attend.

School pictures are ready!

Your child’s school pictures are now available! To view them online, please log in to your account at mylifetouch.ca. If you don’t have an account yet, you can create one using your email address. You’ll need your student’s ID number to locate their photos.

Important: If you don’t know your student’s ID number, please do not contact the school. Paper proofs containing your login credentials will be sent to your home shortly, allowing you to view the images online.

Bonus: All families can also order a FREE digital Pictures2Protect Card—a great way to keep your child’s photo and emergency info handy. Learn more about the Pictures2Protect program here.

Weather Reminders

This time of year means the regular transition between warm and cold weather. Please help your student come to school prepared for the weather over the next several weeks.

  • Please ensure your child is prepared with outdoor clothing and footwear for all weather conditions.
  • All students enjoy 20 minutes of fresh air at lunch (weather permitting) and some physical education classes outside, and this time is much more enjoyable if they are dressed for the weather.
  • Families are encouraged to review this checklist to be prepared for using transportation every school day and throughout the school year. Transportation Family Checklist
  • Please ensure your child is prepared with outdoor clothing and footwear for all weather conditions.
  • Students should not arrive at school before 8:55 a.m. (Soft entry starts at 9:03 a.m.)
  • Students must be picked up from school by 4:00 p.m.

Parking Reminders

  • Please do not park or drop off students in the bus zone in front of the school between 7 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • Please do not drop off or pick up your child from the staff parking lot.
