Oki, Danit'ada, Âba wathtec, Tânisi, Taanishi, Bonjour, Hello, Bob Edwards Community,

I hope that everyone is enjoying the warm weather. I wanted to share that our second week with the students has been amazing. Your support with our new restorative practices official referral program has been invaluable, and I truly appreciate your feedback and encouragement.

Just a quick reminder that every Friday, our school dismissal time is at 12:51 p.m. After dismissal, our teachers engage in their professional development meetings, so they are not available to supervise or run sports activities.

Thank you all for the opportunity to be your child's principal and for the warm welcome. I am eagerly looking forward to meeting with you at our School Council Meeting and Meet the Teacher event in a couple of weeks. More information on that will follow soon. Have a wonderful day and an even better weekend.

Reminder | Homerooms/Classroom Configurations

We continue to experience growth here at Bob Edwards School. Organizing students into homerooms, exploratory classes, and physical education blocks is something that teachers and administrators began working on last school year. For new students, we also meet with feeder schools numerous times to gather as much information as possible to support students.

With this information, we strive to balance classrooms based on numerous factors (e.g., student needs, student connections, class dynamics, student behaviour, school logistical issues, and exploratory class space availability). Therefore, please note that we will not be making classroom changes except in exceptional circumstances until the end of October, when our enrolment numbers and budget will be finalized. We kindly ask for your support in helping your child understand and accept their assigned class list for the 2025–26 school year.

Forms, Forms, and More Forms!

The beginning of the school year means many forms to sign. The following forms are no longer available in hard copy and can be filled out on your SchoolEngage account. The deadline for form completion is September 15.

Please log on and complete as soon as possible so we have accurate records for our students.

  • Demographic Verification Form
  • Annual Authorization Form (combines the following forms: School District use of Personal Information; Consent for CBE Use of Student Information; Consent for use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups)
  • Citizenship Information Update Form

School Waivers

For the 2025–26 school year, all parents requesting a school fee waiver will begin by applying through the central fee waiver process.

For more information, please contact the main office at Bob Edwards School or visit: https://cbe.ab.ca/registration/fees-and-waivers/pages/waivers.aspx

Athletics Updates

Please see the Athletics page of our school website for all Athletic Updates.

For all athletics tryouts, please ensure that your child comes prepared with appropriate athletic attire, water, and a signed copy of the Annual Authorization for Athletic Tryout (you can check off all the sports you would want for your child to try out for the whole year- this way you will avoid signing multiple forms for multiple sports)

We encourage all interested students to participate, regardless of their experience level. It’s a great way for them to challenge themselves and be part of our school spirit!

Weather Reminders

This time of year means the regular transition between warm and cold weather. Please help your student come to school prepared for the weather over the next several weeks.

  • Please ensure your child is prepared with outdoor clothing and footwear for all weather conditions.
  • All students enjoy 20 minutes of fresh air at lunch (weather permitting) and some physical education classes outside, and this time is much more enjoyable if they are dressed for the weather.
  • Families are encouraged to review this checklist to be prepared for using transportation every school day and throughout the school year. Transportation Family Checklist
  • Please ensure your child is prepared with outdoor clothing and footwear for all weather conditions.
  • Students should not arrive at school before 8:55 a.m. (Soft entry starts at 9:03 a.m.)
  • Students must be picked up from school by 4:00 p.m.

Parking Reminders

  • Please do not park or drop off students in front of the school in the bus zone between 7 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
