Hello Bob Edwards Families,
It was wonderful to see so many of you at our first School Council meeting for the 2025-26 school year and at our Meet and Greet the Teacher event. Your presence and enthusiasm have set a positive tone for the year ahead.
We are thrilled to share that we are continuing with week number two of school painting and are on track. The fresh coat of paint is already making a noticeable difference, and we can't wait for you to see the results. In addition, we are excited to announce that our roof replacement project is set to begin next week. We anticipate that this project will be completed by November 2025, which will greatly enhance our school's infrastructure. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. Again, our support of our proactive office referral program has been invaluable, and we are grateful for your continued involvement.
Finally, Tuesday, September 30, 2025, is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and there will be no classes. Please take a moment to think about the students who did not physically come home from school. Think about the students who physically did come home from school but never did spiritually, and the impact it has had on generations of our people. I believe that education is a conduit for knowledge, exploration, joy, and love of learning, and not one of fear, judgment, or hate. I hope that whatever you do on the 30th, it's with love for yourself, your family, and all children. E'kosi
Thank you once again for all your support.
E'kosi
Merci encore pour votre soutien.

Attendance
Regular attendance is one of the strongest predictors of success in school. By Grade 3, students who miss too much school are less likely to read at grade level; by Grade 6, chronic absenteeism increases the risk of not completing high school; by Grade 9, attendance outperforms test scores in predicting graduation.
What the Alberta Education Act & CBE expect (ages 6 – 16): Students must attend school regularly and punctually; schools make reasonable efforts to ensure attendance and contact families when attendance is not satisfactory. At CBE “chronic absenteeism” is often considered around 10% of the school year (about 18 days).
How parents/guardians can help (we are partners):
- Aim for consistent, on-time attendance; book trips/appointments outside school hours where possible.
- Report absences/late arrivals the same day; for extended absences (2+ weeks), please connect with teachers, administrators, and the front office in advance.
- If attendance becomes a concern, we will reach out promptly to create a support plan together.

- All students enjoy 20 minutes of fresh air at lunch (weather permitting) and some physical education classes outside, and this time is much more enjoyable if they are dressed for the weather.
