The second School Council meeting of the 2026-27 school year (and Annual General Meeting – AGM) will be on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. The Bob Edwards School Council can be reached at bobeparentsfundraisingsociety@gmail.com

Please come and join this tremendous group with which we enjoy a strong partnership. You don’t need to sign up for any ‘big jobs’, and any member of our community is welcome to attend.

Help Us Keep Our Community Clean

We are asking families to speak with their children about the importance of properly disposing of garbage and helping to keep our school and surrounding community clean. Recently, we have received concerns from community members regarding litter left in areas around the school and along student travel routes.

At Bob Edwards School, we have been actively addressing this issue with students through classroom discussions, school-wide reminders, and community clean-up efforts. We will continue to emphasize environmental responsibility and respect for our neighborhood. Families can support this work by reinforcing the message at home and encouraging students to dispose of waste appropriately and take pride in caring for the spaces we share.

Thank you for your partnership in helping us maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming community for everyone.

Annual Video Surveillance Technology Notification

Our school has a video surveillance system to help maintain a safe and secure environment at the school for students, staff and the public, and to help address vandalism and criminal activity on school property.

The video surveillance system is installed and reviewed in accordance with Administrative Regulation 1066. Personal information is collected under the authority of the Education Act and the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA), specifically section 10(1) and the Access to Information Act (ATIA).

This technology can be placed in areas such as the school parking lot, building entrances and exits, stairwells and hallways. This information is recorded and collected to help maintain a safe and secure environment in the school and on school property. The users of this information are the principal or designate and law enforcement personnel in the case of reported incidents that would require an investigation. Only authorized persons will review video surveillance information.

Inquiries concerning the video surveillance system, or the collection and use of recorded information may be made by contacting the school office.

Athletics Updates

Please see the Athletics page of our school website for all Athletic Updates. The Physical Education teachers have also put together a Physical Education website, available here.

Parking Reminders

  • Do not enter school bus loading zones. Stop or park in designated zones only so buses can safely pull into their designated space. Thank you for keeping our students safe!
  • Watch for school buses. They have big blind spots, poor maneuverability and need lots of space to move.
  • Please do not drop off or pick up your child from the staff parking lot. Staff arrive throughout the morning, and dropping students off in the staff parking lot is unsafe given the limited space. Our parking lot is full this year, and visitor parking is only on the street. Thank you.

Weather Reminders

This time of year means the regular transition between warm, cold, and rainy weather. Each day students engage in various outdoor learning activities including journaling, physical education, recess and other opportunities to learn from the land.

  • Please ensure your child is prepared with outdoor clothing and footwear for all weather conditions. This includes sweaters, rain jackets, mittens, hats, snow pants and boots when necessary. Here is a great reference sheet to help your student plan accordingly to learn outside.
  • Families are encouraged to review this checklist to be prepared for using transportation every school day and throughout the school year. Transportation Family Checklist
  • Students should not arrive at school before 8:55 a.m. (Soft entry starts at 9:03 a.m.)
  • Students must be picked up from school by 4:00 p.m.

Have a restorative weekend!
