Oki, Danit'ada, Âba wathtec, Tânisi, Taanishi, Bonjour, Hello, Bob Edwards Community,

The end of the school year marks an important milestone for our students and their families. It represents a year of growth and learning completed, and a step closer to the future. For our Grade 9 students, this moment is especially meaningful as they leave middle school behind and prepare to enter the exciting world of high school, where they will continue to grow and take important steps toward their goals. The past few weeks have been busy and full of energy, with field trips, exams, projects, performances, activity days, and farewells. It has been a wonderful way to celebrate all that has been accomplished this year.

We want to extend our sincere thanks to our families for your trust, support, and partnership. Your daily encouragement and your commitment to collaborating with us make a meaningful difference in your children’s success.

We would also like to recognize our incredible staff for their dedication, creativity, and care. They consistently go above and beyond to provide meaningful learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom. The impact of their work is reflected in the impressive growth we have seen in our students throughout the year.

Most importantly, thank you to our students; you are the reason we do what we do. You inspire us, even on the most challenging days. Thank you for the laughter, for supporting one another, and for the ways you contribute to our Eagles community. We are so proud of each of you.

We are grateful for all the opportunities we have had to learn and make memories together as a community. We wish everyone a restful and fun summer, with opportunities to recharge and reconnect with each other.

Farewells

As with every year, some of our Eagle staff will be spreading their wings and moving on to new opportunities. This year, we were fortunate to be supported by exceptional temporary teachers who quickly became valued members of our team: Mr. McKenzie, Mr. Foudji, and Ms. Laferriere. Thank you for your dedication and care for our students.

A special thank you as well to our wonderful secretary, Ms. Natalie, for the warmth and positivity you brought to our school each day. Your welcoming smile and support made a difference for students, families, and staff alike.

We also say farewell to Ms. Rodrigues, Ms. Kashirin, Mr. Pask, and Ms. Kotopoulos as they move on to new teaching experiences. Thank you for the contributions you have made to our school community. Each of you leaves behind a meaningful legacy. We wish you all the best at your new (and very lucky) schools.

Report Cards

Report cards went live on MyCBE yesterday. Families will have access to view and download their children’s current report cards until July 31, 2026.

Provincial Achievement Test (PATs)

Students in Grades 6 and 9 recently completed Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs). Preliminary reports will be mailed next week. These province-wide assessments are developed and overseen by Alberta Education. As required, schools are expected to share students’ preliminary PAT results with parents/guardians. Until these results are reviewed and completed by Alberta Education, they are considered unofficial and subject to change. In the fall, you will receive a copy of your child’s Individual Student Profile (ISP), which represents the official PAT results.

It is important to note that while provincial assessments and report card data are valuable sources of information on your child’s progress, they measure different aspects of student achievement. Provincial assessments evaluate achievement at a specific point in time, focusing on particular aspects of that curriculum, whereas report card data typically reflects a broad summary of achievement across an entire curricular subject area.

These early PAT results (mailed out next week) do not affect overall report card outcomes and do not determine final achievement levels like “acceptable” or “excellent” — that official information will be shared through the ISP that you will receive in the fall.

We encourage families to access MyCBE to review your child’s report card and teacher comments to get the full picture of how your child is doing in school.
